Golden Syrup

  • Yorkshire Parkin

Parkin is a form of oatmeal gingerbread common to Yorkshire and other parts of England where oats were grown in abundance. Dark and treacly, parkin makes the perfect accompaniment to mid-autumn holidays like Bonfire Night – an occasion for which it is often made. Once baked, cover well and allow to mature and soften up for a few days before serving.

  • Crispy Whole Wheat Graham Crackers

These homemade grahams are buttery and crisp, with an incredible depth of flavor thanks to earthy whole wheat flour and the mellow maltiness of golden syrup—a type of light molasses.

  • Frozen Yogurt

This recipe requires draining the yogurt for 8 to 12 hours. We prefer the flavor and texture that Lyle’s Golden Syrup lends this frozen yogurt, but if you can’t find it, you can substitute light corn syrup. Any brand of whole-milk yogurt will work in this recipe. You can substitute low-fat yogurt for whole-milk yogurt, but the results will be less creamy and flavorful.
