We talk to Leah Penniman of Soul Fire Farm in upstate New York. She is a farmer and activist dedicated to eradicating racism and the author of Farming While Black. Then, we head to Michigan, the home of chef/farmer Abra Berens. Abra is the author of the James Beard Award-nominated Ruffage, A Practical Guide to Vegetables, and who better to help Francis solve your gardening and cooking questions? Abra leaves us with a terrific recipe for Zucchini Escabéche, squash that is cooked and then cooled in a vinaigrette. Take that sweltering summer!
