Risking great debate and controversy, the Sterns say the fried chicken at Stroud’s in Kansas City, Missouri, is simply the best on earth, period! The chicken is panfried in black cast-iron skillets and served with hand-mashed potatoes, cream gravy, and cinnamon rolls. Stroud’s is located in a rundown roadhouse that used to be a fireworks stand back in the 1930s, but who cares? One bite of the luscious chicken with its crispy paper-thin crust and you won’t notice the atmosphere anyway.
