Our master of the superb wine bargain, Joshua Wesson, says excellent values are to be found when you look to the second labels from the great world-class producers. From Bordeaux, Josh recommends these:
Carruades de Lafite from Château LaFite Rothschild. This wonderful second label sells for about $75, a steal compared to the 1998 Château Lafite for around $400.
Château Blason d' Issan from Château d' Issan is around $25. Josh says he prefers it to the latter for $80 to $90.
On the sweeter side, Clos Labere Sauterne from Château Rieussec is about $20, or one-third the price as a second label.
