More than half of France's red wines come from the southern Languedoc- Roussillon region of the country, and, until about ten years ago, most were unremarkable. Advances in grape-growing and wine-making have changed that and today the region produces some stunningly low-priced reds that garner high ratings. Here are Pierre's favorites from the region:
