Italy's Hidden Gems
September 15, 2007
Listen to this feature (How to listen)
Vin Italy is the wine show to end all wine shows. It's where everything Italy has made from the grape is in show-off mode. Wine maverick Joshua Wesson was there and found these gems:
From Alto Adige: Lageder Lagrein Rosato 2006. Medium-bodied, fruity rosé. About $15.
From Umbria: Caprai Sagrantino di Montefalco 2003. A big, powerful red. About $30.
From Campania: Aminea Falanghine 2005. Straw-colored, dry, smooth, well-balanced, made from 100% Falanghina grapes. About $18.
